Simulation of Multiknobs Correction at Atf2*

چکیده
The ATF2 project is the final focus system prototype for ILC and CLIC linear collider projects, with a purpose to reach a 37nm vertical beam size at the interaction point. During initial commissioning, we started with larger than nominal !-functions at the IP, to reduce the effects from higher-order optical aberrations and thereby simplify the optical corrections needed. We report on simulation studies at two different IP locations developed based on waist scan, dispersion, coupling and ! function multiknobs correction in the large ! optics of ATF2, in the presence of two kinds of magnet inaccuracies (quadrupole gradient and roll errors) to generate all possible linear optics distortions at the IP. A vertical beam size which is very close to the nominal beam size is obtained based on the simulation study.

At the first stage of the ATF2 beam tuning, vertical beam size is usually bigger than 3!m at the IP. Beam waist measurements using wire scanners and a laser wire are usually performed to check the initial matching of the beam through to the IP. These measurements are described in this paper for the optics currently used ("x=4cm and "y=1mm). Software implemented in the control room to automate t...
متن کاملOrbit Reconstruction, Correction, Stabilization and Monitoring in the Atf2 Extraction Line
The orbit in the ATF2 extraction line has to be accurately controlled to allow orbit and optics corrections to work well downstream. The Final Focus section contains points with large beta function values which amplify incoming beam jitter, and few correctors since the steering is performed using quadrupole movers, and so good orbit stability is required. It is also essential because some magne...

Using a new extraction line currently under construction, the ATF2 experiment plans to test the novel compact final focus optics design with local chromaticity correction intended for use in future linear colliders. With a 1.3 GeV design beam of 30nm normalised vertical emittance extracted from the ATF damping ring, the primary goal is to achieve a vertical spot-size at the IP waist of 37nm. We...

The ATF2 project is the final focus system prototype for ILC and CLIC linear collider projects, with a purpose to reach a 37nm vertical beam size at the interaction point. In beam tuning towards the goal beam size, the presence of a tilt of the IP Shintake monitor fringe pattern with respect to the x-y coordinate system of the beam (or equivalently a σ13 correlation), as well as a σ24 correlati...

The authors would like to make the following corrections to the above article. Owing to an author error, the representative images presented in Supplementary Figure 5B (right panel) and Figure 3A (middle left) were from the same file by mistake. The reused image in Supplementary Figure 5B was replaced with the corrected one from the original experiments. Note that the quantified results present...
